peter pan.

This is my kind of label. The minds of Antwerp students Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos combining to create a ridiculously elegant and beautiful line that draws inspiration from 'the scientific view of nature', something that has always fascinated me. Pilotto deals with the print and textile side of things and De Vos with structure and drape. Its the kind of partnership I dream of (even more so now since I've started a sewing and drafting course). Came across Peter Pilotto when photos of Anouck Lepere appeared on The Cobra Snake and the like wearing his autumn/winter 08/09 dresses. Uhhhhhh. Want.

And their newest season (spring summer 09):

toy town

I recently lost my fakey Chanel-o watch at a pool (I just happened to use illegally in the early hours of the morning on the grounds of a boy's college with about 30 others) a couple of nights ago. Hardcore. Anyway, I'm reallly not enjoying not having a watch so I went to town today on a mission to find another and had the old gold Casios in mind.

Mmmmmmm. Hotties. HOWEVER, I never ended up finding them (will continue tomorrow) because I came across the new brand Toy Watch and their aaaaahhhhmazing pieces.

I'm tossing up between the two in the first row. I'm really liking anything clear at the moment/all the time so thats calling me like a siren song. Won't be getting anything til sometime after next Wednesday so I'll just be running late til then.

the good stuff.

I work at a store called Mecca Cosmetica. Its an Australian-owned company that stocks international luxury makeup, skincare and haircare brands. These here are some of my must-have daily-use products that I can't live without and give the highest recommendations for.

1.Stila Smudge Pot, $40

This baby is a gel eye liner that is waterproof and smudgeproof. You can line the inner rim of your eye and it doesn't come off. AT ALL. You need an oily eye make up remover for this one. You have to use a thin liner brush (I like NARS #9) or a push brush to put it on. Comes in black, brown, blue, grey, jade and bronze- which I also have (and is amazing to use as a cream base for golds n shit). Oh and we've also recently been told that they're bringing out a purple one. BAM!

2. NARS Blush in 'Orgasm', $60

This is an all-time best seller, I think its the highest selling blush in the world. Twas the first one to mix peach, pink and gold, and morphs to any skintone and suits any other makeup pairing. WILL NOT LEAVE HOUSE WITHOUT IT.

3. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in 'Damned', $45

For when I want to look a little goth, which is kinda all the time. The name says it all. Its velvety, its matte, it stays on for a long time and doesn't feel like you're wearing anything. RULING!

4. NARS The Multiple in 'Copacabana', $85

Sweet sweetness. This is a highlighter you can use everywhere. Its smooth and pearly. Party.

5. Bumble & bumble Hair Powder in Brown, $69

THIS STUFF IS INCREDIBLE. Brown hair powder in an aerosol spray can. Creates a matte effect and makes hair easy to pull apart and if its curled it goes all Sophia Loren-y. It absorbs oil as well so its great for days when your hair is gross but you don't want to wash it. Comes in brown, blonde, black, red and white (might be good for a Marie Antoinette party don't you think?)

6. MD Skincare Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel, $138 for 30 applications

Hoe lee shit balls. These lil ladies are a two step thing, quick and easy as pie and great for lazy party animals like me. They work to dissolve the gum that holds together dead skin cells, and smoothes your skin and clears it up. Rool good for people with acne too. Amazing-town.

7. NARS Lipstick in 'Schiap', $50

This is a matte, highly-pigmented fuschia colour and whenever I wear it people won't shut the hell up about it. Winner.

the boys, the boys.

Four things have triggered this post on people of the male persuasion.

1. Jethro Cave (model & Nick Cave's son) emblazoned throughout the internet (and my RSS feeds in particular)
2. Rick Owens' new fall 09 menswear collection.
3. Male models for Bumble & bumble (we sell B.b at work)
4. The fact that I usually get more inspiration from guys' streetstyle photos than I do girls'...
